I agree with SallyB's review, with a few additions: view spoiler [ The h's dream of opening a school for disabled children to ride had me horrified, over and over, at the real-life potential for complete disaster.
I mean, it was nice that she was high-minded, but I kind of agreed with the OW that people's admiration of the h was a bit ridiculous, considering that they'd have to be scrambling behind the scenes to make sure that children did not die in the h's care. The OW Two and a half stars. The OW had other reasons, but I have the feeling I'd be muttering under my breath a lot, too. The h definitely got a ton of accolades, but she begrudged the OW a moment in the spotlight at the school's Christmas party, which made me think that the h was one of those people who somehow knew how to manipulate others into praising her.
That brings me to the OW. I can't tell if the H was a willing participant in making the OW's real love interest jealous, or if he just blithely ignored the whole thing and just thought he was keeping the OW company while she figured things out. He certainly didn't seem to see any hypocrisy in his being jealous of the h when she is pursued by a wealthy businessman, so I'm kind of thinking he was the type who just saw what he wanted to see and really wasn't conscious he was being played, in which case, he was a pretty good guy who genuinely cared for the h and was willing to back her crazy schemes.

About Gloria Bevan. Gloria Bevan. At three, her family moved to New Zealand, and considers herself a New Zealander. Well marked paths provided for some great hikes. Probably the best breakfast we had while in Iceland. Make sure to ask the staff to steam an egg in the hot springs - it's like nothing we have ever tasted!
Bed was very comfortable. Great location just south of the golden circle. Lovely little town to explore as well. Date of stay: October Rooms. Sleep Quality.

We stayed here for one night and I kept wishing while I was in Iceland that we had stayed at least two nights. The property is located on a small creek and has views of it and the hills have steam escaping from various places so it is very picturesque. They have two different hot tubs that have two different temperatures due to the hot springs, it was really great to hang out in those and take in the beauty of Iceland. The included breakfast is quite good to.
I dream to stay here again. I saw the northern lights briefly too, so that was great. Date of stay: September Value.

Fabulous but could improve. A lot was good at the Frost and Fire. Great to have the pool, outdoor hot tubs and sauna. Room was nice but bathroom very small. Nice veranda with views of the hills, river and hot springs. Rooms are little bungalow style units. Dinner was expensive for what it was.
It was good but not top notch. Breakfast was good but a good variety of continental, not cooked, though it was possible to cook your own waffle. Staff seemed very rushed, especially at the dinner service but were friendly and helpful. Date of stay: September Previous Next 1 2 3 4 5 6 … Roam asked a question Nov Answer from Stephen B. Nov We had a car and it's about a 40 minute drive in fair weather.
Sorry, don't know about other busses or winter. Obviously a taxi would but that would be pricey.
